Program Bebas Buta Huruf Al-Qur’an Melalui Safari Ramadhan di Desa Kubangkangkung, Kecamatan Kawunganten, Cilacap
Abstract
Qur’anic literacy is a fundamental aspect of Muslim life, playing a crucial role in both the practice of worship and the understanding of Islamic teachings. However, in reality, many communities still face issues of Qur’anic illiteracy, either completely (not recognizing Arabic letters) or partially (reading without proper tajweed). In response to this challenge, the Safari Ramadhan program held in Kubangkangkung Village, Kawunganten, Cilacap, served as a community service initiative through collaboration between MWCNU Kawunganten, Majlis Taklim al-Qur’an al-Muqorrobin, and UNUGHA Cilacap. This program aimed to improve Qur’anic literacy through participatory and educational methods across various activities, including tajweed instruction, tahsin, fiqh of worship, studies on gharaib al-Qur’an, training in key recitations (Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, and Tashahhud), and the development of a mosque management guidebook. Additionally, the program involved university students in leading Tarawih prayers, delivering sermons, completing Qur’anic recitations, and teaching at local Qur’anic schools (TPQ). Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in the community’s ability to read and understand the Qur’an. The success of this initiative was due to the strong collaboration among academic institutions, religious leaders, and the local community, along with a shared commitment to continue the literacy improvement efforts beyond the month of Ramadhan.
