Abstract

Politeness strategies and politeness principles, as pragmatic manifestations, are two determining factors in communication for both speakers and listeners. This study aims to analyze the politeness strategies that emerge in conversations on the Keluarga Artis podcast. The focus of this study is on four politeness strategies, namely Bold on Record, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, and Off Record. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis show that Positive Politeness is the most dominant followed by Off Record, Bald on Record and Negative Politeness. These findings indicate that this study highlights how conversation style and media context influence the choice of politeness strategies, contributing to a better understanding of language use in digital communication.
